Animated subtitle and caption styles for social media videos

The challenge

Mozaik currently supports more classical subtitle styles that are well suited for corporate branding guidelines and formal video requirements. However, more and more videos are created for social media channels where users expect dynamic, animated caption styles similar to Instagram and TikTok.

Examples include captions where words fade in word by word, specific words are highlighted as they are spoken, or subtitles use more expressive animated behavior to match short-form social video conventions.

Our approach

Add new animated subtitle and caption styles that better match the expectations of social media users. These styles should support more dynamic caption behavior while still fitting into Mozaik’s subtitle editing workflow.

Expected impact

• Better support for Instagram-, TikTok-, and short-form social-video workflows

• More engaging subtitles and captions for videos intended for social platforms

• Less need to use external tools to create animated or highlighted captions
