The challenge
Today subtitles move together as a group — when you reposition them, they all shift to the same spot. That doesn't work when different parts of a video need their subtitles in different places, for example to avoid covering a speaker, an on-screen graphic, or a lower third that changes from scene to scene. Teams creating longer, multi-scene videos want each subtitle to sit where it fits best.
Our approach
Let's make subtitle positioning work per subtitle clip instead of only globally. You'd be able to select an individual subtitle segment and move it up, down, or to another spot on the canvas, while the rest keep their own positions.
Expected impact
Place each subtitle exactly where it reads best, scene by scene
Keep subtitles clear of speakers, graphics, and lower thirds
More polished, professional-looking videos without manual workarounds
