The challenge

When you upload large files (for example a 4 GB video) over a medium-speed internet connection, today's upload bar can leave you unsure whether the upload is still running. The bar moves so slowly that it can look frozen, so it's hard to tell if anything is happening or how much longer it will take. This is especially frustrating for long-form uploads, where the source videos are big and take a while, and it makes the whole upload feel unreliable.

Our approach

Let's make upload progress much clearer — for example by showing a percentage, an estimated time remaining, and a real-time progress indicator so you can always see that your upload is moving and roughly how long is left.
