Mozaik is built for organizations that take data protection seriously. This article explains where we host your data, how our data centers are certified, and how content is delivered.
GDPR compliance
Mozaik is fully compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO). Data protection is essential to how we work, and your data is protected at all times in line with GDPR requirements.
Server locations in Europe
The Mozaik video platform is developed in Germany and operated in data centers within the European Union. For our cloud infrastructure, we use Microsoft Azure, with data center locations in Germany (including Frankfurt and Nuremberg), together with Hetzner. To ensure high availability, fallback systems within the EU/EEA may be used.
We have data processing agreements (DPA / Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag) in place with all of our infrastructure and hosting partners. Beyond that, we ensure compliance with GDPR requirements and maintain appropriate technical and organizational measures (TOMs).
ISO 27001-certified data centers
All data is stored and processed in data centers with ISO 27001 certification.
Good to know: ISO 27001 certification here refers to the data centers where data is hosted. It describes the certified security standard of the hosting facilities.
How content is delivered (CDN)
To load images and videos quickly and reliably, our website and certain services use the Fastly content delivery network (CDN). Fastly distributes content across servers worldwide.
As a result, some usage information — and content such as images and videos — may be transferred to and stored on Fastly servers outside the EU. For any transfer to the USA or other third countries that do not offer a level of data protection equivalent to the GDPR, we have Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) in place with Fastly and apply further safeguards to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
Good to know: The type and extent of CDN usage can be adjusted in the cookie settings.
